  2. US biochemist, discoverer of adrenaline. He
  3. studied the chemical composition of body
  4. tissues, and this led, in 1898, to the
  5. discovery of adrenaline, the first hormone to
  6. be identified, which Abel called epinephrine.
  7. He later became the first to isolate amino
  8. acids from blood.
